Getting it Done

So.... I have a ton going on in my head it seems. If my mind were an Outlook Calendar it would always be full and I would always have an appointment. My thing is that I start things, but can't quite seem to finish them sometimes. I've started three books, two blogs, and a few business plans over the past few months or so.... Heavy on the "or so". There are a few other things I could list, but you get my point.

Having actually confessed to this and have admitted to it, I think I'm going to challenge myself, call a mid-year resolution where I give up procrastinating and leaving things undone. I'm so guilty of that in some aspects of life. They say "There's no time like the present", "Don't put off to tomorrow what you can do today", "Time waits for no WOman"......yada yada yada.

So this will be my venue for tracking progress of my personal projects, I think it's such a shame that we throw themselves into our professional work with such fervor, but when it comes to our own aspirations, we just seem to lose that same enthusiasm. And that is one thing I am sooooo guilty of. Is it because it just seems risky, to put so much effort into an idea and it may or may not work out? Maybe, but life is a about taking risk, and stepping out of our comfort zones. How else can we grow and continue to learn if we don't challenge ourselves, whatever way that may be.

I know one thing I do need to do is get my thoughts and ideas organized and written out. Complete one task before moving onto another. Although it may be good to be working on one or two projects at the same time. I am the queen of multitasking and it's high time I used my skills to my own personal benefit.

Task # 1 - The What: Choose the project that excites me most and start an execution plan.

So... I've chosen an idea that I think has potential and I have started looking into what it's going to take to get started. I'm going to keep the idea small, I think that's sometimes where I get hung up.. I think too big most of the time.

Task # 2 - The How: Figuring out how to make it work.

Everyday I will devote time to seeing this idea come to life. I'll document each step of the way which will let me visually see the progress being made, or not being made too.

Now... let's get it done!
